Menengai Crater
Pisgah Trails Xplorers – Menengai Trails Exploration
We are a crew of Kenyan guides and trip planners, taking travellers from all over Kenya and the world out into the country we love. “Pisgah” is simply the name of a ridge you climb to take in a whole valley at once — which is exactly how we think about travel. Get high enough, slow down enough, and the country opens up in front of you.
A good trip is not a checklist. It is unhurried time in wild places, guides who genuinely know the ground, and money that stays with the communities hosting you. That is the whole idea, and it is open to everyone — whatever you believe, wherever you come from.
“Look west, north, south and east — then go and see it for yourself.”People · Places · Purpose — our working rule since day one
Local trackers, community leaders and camp teams — paid fairly, treated well, and given room to build real careers rather than seasonal work.
Looking after the lakes, moorlands, crater rims and migration corridors we travel through, with strict Leave-No-Trace practice on every trip.
Trips built around time and attention rather than box-ticking — the kind of days that leave you rested, curious and glad you came.
We handle park permits, lodging, 4x4s and any internal flights, so all you have to do is show up and enjoy the place.
Choose one of our set routes, or just tell us what you have in mind — a day at Lake Nakuru, a crater hike, two weeks across the country.
Our planning team sorts the lodges or camps, the vehicle, the driver-guide, any bush flights, and your food preferences.
We meet you where you are, at your hotel, in town or at the airport, hand you over to your guide, and stay reachable for the whole trip.
“We did two days at Lake Nakuru and a morning on the Menengai rim. The guide knew exactly where the rhinos would be, and we had the viewpoint completely to ourselves at sunrise.”
“Climbing Mount Kenya with their team was the highlight of our year. Gentle pace, genuinely good food on the mountain, and reaching Point Lenana at dawn was something else entirely.”
“Bogoria’s geysers, then flamingos at Baringo, then straight on to the Mara. Every handover was smooth and nothing was left for us to chase. Easily the least stressful trip we have taken.”

We are based in Nakuru, in Kenya's Rift Valley. That puts Lake Nakuru National Park, Menengai Crater, Lake Bogoria, Lake Baringo and Hell's Gate all within easy reach for day trips and short tours, and we run longer safaris from there to the Maasai Mara, Mount Kenya, Samburu and the coast.
Trips close to home start at around KES 4,500 per person for the Menengai Crater hike and KES 18,500 for a two-day Lake Nakuru safari. Longer trips such as the Maasai Mara start at KES 55,000. Prices include park fees, transport in a private 4x4 and your guide, with accommodation included on overnight trips.
Send us your dates, group size and where you would like to go using the enquiry form, WhatsApp or email. We reply within 24 hours with a full day-by-day itinerary and a quote. Nothing is charged until you are happy with the plan.
Lake Nakuru is good year-round for rhino and giraffe. Flamingo numbers depend on water levels and shift between Nakuru, Bogoria and Elementaita, so we check current conditions before every trip and tell you honestly where the birds actually are. The drier months of June to October and January to February give the easiest game viewing.
Yes. Our trips are open to everyone regardless of background, nationality or belief. The company name comes from Pisgah, a ridge you climb to take in a whole valley at once, which is simply how we think about travel.
